PPS il nuovo Spaces fa schifo

dopo un'accesa ed interessantissima discussione, con entrambe le parti aperte al contraddittorio, su un tema che a me sta molto a cuore, vale a dire lo sport, il nostro professore di inglese ci ha pregato di scrivere un componimento sull'argomento. come ho già detto è un argomento che mi interessa moltissimo, e ho deciso di pubblicare le mie (umili) idee.

 

How to persuade people to do sports?

Sports are fundamental for the life of the individual, as doing sports you can keep fit and prevent a lot of diseases. This is not only my opinion: it’s universally proved that if somebody doesn’t have a regular physical activity he will die young and in excruciating pain, while if you do sports you are 99% protected from the risks of the modern life. The only (but very rare) injury that occur to the athletic men and women is bone-breaking. Because of this it would be an enormous advantage for a modern nation to have a population made only of very fit people: it’s evident that the costs involved in maintaining fitness are very much lower than keeping hospitals open. So closing the hospitals (excluding few orthopedic ones) would obligate people to start doing sports, in order not to need any cure, which they wouldn’t receive. In addition to this, I found a very interesting idea from a fairytales book called “1984”: I think it would be great to have a video camera, a screen, a speaker system and a microphone (linked to a central gym managed by the government) in every single room of everyone’s house, so that everyone can be gently pushed to do their physical exercise every morning; in this way it would just become a routine, and everyone would be fit without even notice they are spending energy!

NEW YORK - La follia consumistica di Black Friday, il grande appuntamento americano per gli acquisti natalizi, ha provocato un morto e tre feriti. Un dipendente di 34 anni della catena Wal-Mart è stato infatti scaraventato per terra, calpestato e ucciso dalla folla mentre cercava di respingere l' arrembaggio dei clienti che, alle cinque di ieri mattina, hanno dato l' assalto a un centro commerciale di Long Island, non lontano da New York, per approfittare dei saldi. Tre clienti sono stati ricoverati in ospedale «E' stata una circostanza tragica e stiamo collaborando con le autorità di polizia», ha detto la Wal-Mart, che è la più grande società commerciale del mondo e il primo datore di lavoro privato con 2,1 milioni di dipendenti. Una ressa analoga a quella di Long Island si è vista ieri in molti angoli degli Stati Uniti, per fortuna con esiti meno drammatici. All' indomani di Thanksgiving (il giorno del Ringraziamento) comincia infatti la stagione in cui si concentra il 40% dei consumi americani. E' il venerdì dei super-saldi. Ed è anche il giorno in cui i bilanci annuali dei commercianti passano dal passivo all' attivo, dal rosso al nero: di qui il nome.
